چکیده
Objective: to evaluate the impact of Leiden mutation on the course of severe acute pancreatitis. Subjects and methods. One hundred and twelve people were examined. Group 1 comprised 50 patients diagnosed with severe acute pancreatitis with out coagulation factor V (Leiden) mutation. Group 2 included 42 patients with severe acute pancreatitis who were found to have Leiden mutation. Acute pancreatitis was first diagnosed in both groups. Group 3 consisted of 20 apparently healthy individuals (a control group). The severity of the underlying disease was determined in accordance with the clinical and lab oratory parameters recommended by the I. I. Dzhanelidze Saint Petersburg Research Institute of Emergence Care. Results. This investigation revealed an association of Leiden mutation with trends in the development of acute pancreatitis. Group 2 exhibited a more severe disease: large focal pancreatic necrosis was twice more common and infectious complica tions developed more frequently; more aggressive and rad ical treatments were more often used. The patients with Leiden mutation had higher mortality rates (33% in the Leiden mutation group and 24% in the non mutation group. Leiden Mutation and the Course of Severe Acute Pancreatitis

Background & Aims:Thromboembolism is an acute cardiovascular disease that ranges from clinically unimportant to massive embolism. Both acquired and hereditary risk factors contribute to the disease. We aimed to determine the prevalence of two hereditary predisposing factor of the disease, prothrombin G20210A and factor V Leiden (G1691A) polymorphisms, in Kerman population.<br /...

Background: Tim-3 has been considered as an ideal target for the immunotherapy of inflammation, but it is unclear whether Tim-3 also plays an important role in acute pancreatitis (AP), as well. Objective: To identify the immunomodulatory effects and mechanisms of Tim-3 action in the early stages of severe acute pancreatitis in mice. Methods: Ma...
متن کاملFamilial hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute necrotizing pancreatitis: A case report
Acutepancreatitis can infrequently be a life-threatening complication of hypertriglyceridemia. Rarely, hypertriglyceridemia can originate from an inborn genetic error in lipoproteins metabolism. This condition can be manifested by very high serum triglyceride levels (>1000 mg/dl) and a more severe and lethal form of pancreatitis. Here, we present a case of acute pancreatic which was found out t...

She was a newborn female, first-degree of consanguineou...
